Today Miss Tuapawa, Whaea Maxine and my class were painting. It was incredible. We did a volcano and some koru patterns that represented the lava and smoke that comes out when the volcano erupts. First of all, we dyed our paper with dark blue, light blue and purple dye. Then we painted the volcano with acrylic paints. We all had fun today.

Netball Parade 16th May 2015

Congratulations to Clendon Park School for winning ‘Best dressed Club’ at Parade Day on Saturday!!  CPS will be engraved on the trophy and Smokefree NZ gave us a bag full of drink bottles and a Netball.

We had fantastic weather and everybody looked great with their uniforms, flags and banners.  We had heaps of supporters there too, including Mrs Dawson who was seated with the rest of the dignitaries.  She was also one of the three community leaders that were asked to shoot the opening season goal together!!  Go Mrs Dawson!!!!

Netball Fundraiser Week 4

On Thursday, Miss Tuapawa, the Golden Comets and the Starlights were selling cupcakes, toffee apples, drinks, lollies, popcorn, chocolates and jelly to fundraise for our end of season prizegiving. We made over $300 and we hope to go to Waiwera at the end of Netball. I had to donate a pack of drinks that was sold for $1 each.

ANZAC week celebrations

ANZAC DAY

On Friday, my class and I made some cupcakes for the memorial of the 100th year since the ANZACs went to war. The groups made different cupcakes, my group made chocolate chip cupcakes. We made $147 and we donated it to the ANZAC appeal. After that we had a special ceremony. They played an old song, it made me think about all the people that went to war. Someone from Room 20 went up and did a speech. Then we sang a song. I learnt that the people that went to war fought for our country. I am thankful to the soldiers that sacrificed their life for us.
